Welcome by Chairperson [High-Speed Rail]

The IET Transport Sector, Parsons Brinckerhoff and HS2 Ltd. are collaborating on a programme of knowledge dissemination related to the rail system design of the proposed new UK high-speed railway line - HS2. The collaboration aims to share the technical knowledge, innovations and challenges of delivering a large-scale transport project. The first activity of the collaboration is this technical seminar, with high-level presentations exploring the economic benefits of the new railway line, the technical challenges of developing sustainable platforms for signalling and communications systems, and integrating the railway with existing regional transport hubs. The event also examines the skills and jobs required between now and the project's completion.
